Instagram is a platform that naturally lends itself to creativity and striking visuals. Here are our favourite brands on Instagram for their engaging content and innovative use of campaigns.

Nike

#1 – Nike

According to Nitrogram, Nike is currently the most popular brand on Instagram with over two million followers. Currently, Nike also has the largest brand hashtag – #nike.

When Nike amassed more than one million followers and more than six million photos with the tag #Nike on Instagram, the brand celebrated both milestones with a 24-hour community celebration.

The campaign was incredibly successful, securing more than 600,000 “hearts” and more than 4,900 comments.

Nike typically posts colourful, high-resolution photos of athletes and products in real-life settings. Their focus is on inspiring fans to push further and work harder to achieve their goals with emotive and motivational slogans.

#2 – Red Bull

Red Bull currently has over 880,000 followers and ranks at number nine on Nitrogram.

The account rarely has shots of the product and chooses instead to showcase their brand values; adventure and inspiration, carpe diem.

The Red Bull Editions campaign was a collaborative art project to celebrate the launch of three new flavours: Cranberry, Lime and Blueberry.

To get involved, Red Bull fans were encouraged to shoot pictures with the hashtags #rededitionplease, #silvereditionplease and #blueeditionplease, and include @redbulluk in their caption to qualify their Instagram to appear in a gallery hosted on the campaign’s website.

Red Bull then showcased the best shots in locations around cities in the UK.

#3 – Converse

Converse has over 460,000 followers and ranks at number 18 on Nitrogram.

Converse’s Instagram feed brings to life elements of its branding. It focuses on alternative urban culture; music, skateboarding, street art and even a shot of someone being tattooed.

For Converse’s My Canvas Journey campaign, the company gathered together a select group of Instagrammers – who represented the creative aspects of the brand – to take fans on a totally unique photo journey.

From television presenters, actors and designers to photographers, stylists and sound engineers; the nominees were selected for the interesting lives they lead and their inspiring Instagram feeds. The chosen Instagrammers took part in a photo journey with the iconic Converse Canyon Duffel Bag, which culminated in a one-off exhibition and photo installation documenting their very own story, work and way of life illustrated through their bag.

#4 – Burberry

Burberry ranks at number 21 on Nitrogram and has over one million followers.

Burberry is a leader in content marketing, showcasing beautiful photographs and creative Vines and Instagram videos. From iconic shots of London to celebrities or even backstage shots at major fashion events; the Burberry Instagram account is a must for fashion lovers.

#5 – Sharpie

Sharpie ranks at 87 on Nitrogram and has over 107,000 followers.
